FD-EOS Adapter

Last year I bought an FD to EOS adapter so I could use the old FD lens from my dad's camera in my Canon XT (350d). I bought it without knowing almost anything about it, cause there wasn't any kind of photo examples of the results brought by this adapter.

That's why I decided to post some pictures comparing the FD lens with my EF 28-135mm in a forum that I used to participate.

So know that I found those pictures, I decided to make a post here so I could show people who might be interested in buying one of those adapters what kind of results they should expect.

Here we go:

All pictures have the 100% zoom crop in a box on one of the corners
The first one is a reference shot with my 28-135 EF Lens, at 28mm 1/250 f10:



The second is still with the 28-135mm, at 135mm 1/320 f9:



The third is with the FD 200mm 2.8f at 200mm 1/250 f8:



And the last one is with the FD 500mm 4.5f L at 500mm 1/250 f8:




The photos were only resized and don't have any kind of retouching, the objective was only to show the lens behavior when used with the FD-EOS adapter.

I hope this post is useful to anybody looking for this kind of adapter.

This post is to ask for (if there is any) readers to send me all bibliographic or electronic references of advertising photography and anything related to it. I found a couple references already, but I really need to collect more information so I can write my conclusion paper.

Psych ward

I'm really weird. But for a reason that might be not the worse:

Sometimes I just leave photography aside, my camera in a box (well closed so it won't get dusty, or moldy, or anything disgusting) and live my life with other priorities. But, every once in a while, I have this urge to photograph, and to learn, and, specially, to buy new stuff. And this is happening right now.. I bought some new stuff - that I'll reveal when they come, including a lighting tripod for some off-camera flash fun.

I just wish that taxes here in Brazil were lower, so we could get more for le$$.

Conclusions about photography

This semester I need to create a project for my conclusion paper at school - by the way, I'll be a bachelor in Marketing and Advertising - and because of this, I need to decide the theme for this paper.

I always wanted to write something related to photography, but I always thought that this would be an over analyzed area, but, for my complete surprise, the teacher who is orienting me during this semester, told me that photography is the least explored area for conclusion works in our university and in our entire region.

Of course it surprised me in both positive and negative way - positive, because now I have already decided my field of analysis for the paper; and negative, cause it makes me a little disappointed that in an university dedicated exclusively to communication and marketing, so few people show interest about photography.. I don't know, I think I just expected tons of people with the same interest in this area as I and some of my friends do.

Well, but maybe it is just me.

General blabbering

This is my blog to talk about photography, and also my place to practice my English skills.

So, first of all, I'm going to star apologizing for any grammatic or spelling errors, I'll do my best to avoid them, but I'm not perfect.
